I am excited to share that I am having two upcoming book launches, one in Sydney, and one in Melbourne, on May 8th and 15th, respectively. The events are in organization of Kate Dinon, the founder of Character+Distinction, a public relations and communications firm, and made possible by Cairns Crocodiles’ invitation to speak at their fantastic annual creative conference (register here). In Sydney, I will be in conversation with Lauren Sams, Editor of The Australian Financial Review and in Melbourne, I will be having a fireside chat with Katya Wachtel, Editorial Director of Broadsheet Media. Closer to home, in New York, I am having a book launch conversation with Rachel Tashjian, the Fashion Critic for the Washington Post, hosted by Lyst.
I was a guest on the People vs Algorithms podcast and the topic was the Taste Premium. We dig into the idea of taste — how it’s formed, how it signals identity, and where it fits in media and business today. We also unpack how taste once defined media gatekeepers, how it’s now being democratized (or commodified), and why developing taste is less about money and more about intentionality.
